You will ensure reliable equipment, monitor systems, and follow safety procedures while contributing to efficient manufacturing and energy use.

Qualifications

• A valid 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate MB is required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings.
• Able to read and understand specifications and drawings and computer literacy.
• A thorough understanding of safety program procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain steam boiler and other utility equipment per MB Safety Authority.
• Prepare and monitor starch batches for production needs.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance for safety and efficiency.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair steam plant issues.
• Monitor readings, log data, and report abnormalities.
• Support maintenance procedures and plant startups/shutdowns.
• Collaborate with production to minimize downtime.

What You’ll Do

Your Day-to-day

• Operate and maintain steam boiler, and other utility equipment in accordance with MB Safety Authority regulations.


• Prepare and monitor starch batches used in the manufacturing process, ensuring proper consistency, quality, and supply for production needs.


• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure systems are operating safely and efficiently.


• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues within the steam plant.


• Monitor and record system readings, maintain logbooks, and report any abnormalities.


• Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance procedures and safety protocols.


• Support other maintenance tasks and participate in plant shutdowns and startups.


• Collaborate with the production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
