Job summary

Cascades is seeking an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) in St-Marys, Ontario to maintain and repair production equipment on the shop floor, ensuring safety and reliability of your line stations. This is a full-time role with guaranteed hours and a focus on operational excellence.

You’ll work on corrugators, printers, die cutters, folder-gluers and conveyors, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and collaborating with operators to maximize

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Red Seal Industrial Mechanic in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and machine manuals.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and SAP.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment including corrugators, printers, die cutters, folder-gluers and conveyors.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and automation issues to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives and control systems using diagnostics and schematics.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with operators and production teams to optimize machine efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and keep a clean, organized work area.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing maintenance practices.

What you’ll do

As an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) , you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.
Your day-to-day:

• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment, including corrugators, printers, die cutters, folder-gluers, and conveyor systems.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and automation-related issues to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and control systems using diagnostic tools, schematics, and software.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with operators and production teams to identify issues and optimize machine efficiency.

Your strengths as an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright)

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Red Seal Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), HMIs, and automated control systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and machine manuals.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and computer-based maintenance programs & SAP.
• Familiarity with 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement principles.
• Commitment to quality, efficiency, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
