Position Summary

The Treater/Class 4 Power Engineer is responsible for the safe and productive operation of the treating plants, including operation of steam boilers and pressure equipment.

Work Schedule

Regular and rotation shifts (days, nights, alternate) - subject to change.

Responsibilities

1. Operate pressure treating systems (treating plants, fixation kilns) and perform quality control activities to meet customer specifications and standards.
2. Operate high-pressure boiler equipment and pressure vessels.
3. Unload chemical deliveries.
4. Clean and maintain treating systems, including greasing, changing/cleaning filters, cleaning tanks, sump pits, and work areas.
5. Maintain daily plant checklists and report concerns to Supervisor, Maintenance, or Chief Engineer.
6. Analyze treating solutions to ensure compliance with specifications.
7. Maintain clean and safe working conditions.
8. Make recommendations to improve productivity.
9. Maintain treating plant standard operating procedures to ensure all work is performed safely according to applicable codes, standards, and Stella-Jones health and safety manual.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
