Job summary

Oak Valley Health in Markham, Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Childbirth and Children\'s Centre to deliver patient and family centred care for antepartum, postpartum and newborns. The successful candidate will hold a current College of Nurses registration, BLS, NRP, and have at least 2 years\' postpartum experience; a breastfeeding course or plan is required within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses.
• BScN preferred or evidence of working towards.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• 2 years postpartum experience or ability to work independently in postpartum.
• NRP certification is mandatory.
• A breastfeeding course is required (or plan to complete within 3 months).
• Current AWHONN or PPPESO Fetal Health Surveillance Certification is expected.
• RNAO membership is preferred.
• Excellent physical assessment skills are essential.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Commitment to a patient/family centred care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within interprofessional teams or independently.
• Strong organization, communication, interpersonal and teaching skills.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development and leadership experience.
• Good attendance and performance record.
• Commitment to a safe workplace and compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care as part of a health care team.
