Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on a temporary full-time basis through March 2028. Shifts are 12 hours, days, nights, and weekends, with a union (ONA) designation.

Responsibilities include focused newborn assessment, family education, and discharge planning for premature and ill infants. Current Ontario RN registration and NRP/CPR as applicable are required or obtainable within 3 months.

Qualifications

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • CPR/BCLS certification required on hire (exempted for HRH staff)
  • NRP certification required or available within 3 months
  • NICU experience preferred
  • STABLE certification an asset
  • IV therapy and venipuncture skills in infants preferred
  • Excellent family teaching skills
  • Willingness to cross-train within Women’s & Children’s Health Program
  • Strong communication and teamwork across diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide total patient care for premature and ill newborns 30 weeks gestation to term
  • Educate and support parents and families
  • Facilitate discharge planning
  • Rotate to other departments as needed within Humber sites
