Job summary

University Pension Plan Ontario is seeking an Intern Analyst, Portfolio Construction for Summer 2027, a 4-month placement (May–August 2027). Based in downtown Toronto with a hybrid work policy (minimum two days in-office per week), you will contribute to the design of long-term asset allocation and capital market assumptions.

You will develop analytical tools and dashboards, support investment research, and collaborate with the Investment team under the Senior Director, Portfolio Construction

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Proficient in programming (VBA, Python, Matlab).
• Possesses basic knowledge of and a keen interest in finance, economics and capital markets.

Responsibilities

• Support research and analysis related to UPP's long-term investment strategy, capital market assumptions and overall portfolio design.
• Develop and enhance analytical tools and dashboards to support portfolio construction and asset liability analysis.
• Support preparation of analysis and materials for internal stakeholders and senior decision-makers.
