Job description

Join to apply for the Portfolio Analyst role at Osborne Clarke.

Osborne Clarke is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join our growing Change & Transformation team in any of our UK offices (Bristol, London, or Reading).

This position will support the UK Firm's firm-wide PMO by embedding portfolio, programme, and project governance and methodologies, and managing change portfolio data for effective decision-making.

This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with hybrid working arrangements.

The role

The Portfolio Analyst will be a key member of the Change & Transformation team, promoting collaboration, teamwork, and innovation. Responsibilities include supporting the PMO Manager with MI/reporting of portfolio and financial information to enable effective decision-making by the Director of Change and the International Change Board (ICB).

Other Key Responsibilities Include
  • Developing effective relationships with stakeholders to ensure accurate portfolio information.
  • Acting as a key contact for portfolio practices, advocating best practices in change, programme, and project management, and business analysis.
  • Developing and maintaining frameworks for portfolio practices and championing these across the organization.
  • Supporting risk and issue tracking across the portfolio, ensuring mitigation actions are managed.
  • Understanding projects within the portfolio to identify inter-dependencies, risks, and issues proactively.
  • Financial management, including creating detailed business cases with quantifiable benefits and tracking these throughout project lifecycles.
We are looking for
  • Experience in a firm-wide PMO environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and a client-centric mindset, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent coordination skills developed through project, programme, or portfolio work.
  • Knowledge of various portfolio, programme, and project methodologies.
  • Ability to support stakeholders in developing governance documents like status reports and business cases.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of consolidating complex information into executive reports.
  • Project management or PMO qualifications (e.g., PMP, PMI, APM, PROSCI, P3O) are desirable.
  • An understanding of the role of a firm-wide PMO and change function.
  • Financial management skills, including budgeting and reporting; experience with investment planning is an advantage.
  • A logical, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
