Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day investment accounting support across multiple business entities and investment portfolios.
- Monitor investment trade activity within the investment accounting system to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and completely, following up on exceptions as required.
- Coordinate with internal departments, custodians, brokers, and external stakeholders to resolve trade settlement, cash movement, and investment-related inquiries.
- Process and monitor corporate actions, maturities, principal repayments, income receipts, and other investment events to ensure accurate accounting records.
- Maintain investment security master data and support ongoing data integrity initiatives.
- Perform security pricing and valuation activities during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting cycles.
- Prepare and review recurring investment accounting reports, schedules, and reconciliations.
- Complete portfolio reconciliations, including investment holdings, receivables, payables, and custody records.
- Maintain documentation supporting internal controls, third-party service providers, and audit requirements.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes by preparing supporting schedules and ensuring completeness of investment accounting records.
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to information requests.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned.
About you:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, or Accounting.
- 6+ years of investment operations or portfolio administration experience.
- Knowledge of capital markets, securities, and trade settlement.
- Working towards CSC or CFA an asset.
