Job summary

St. Boniface Hospital is seeking a Housekeeping Porter to perform cleaning services across the campus under the Housekeeping Supervisor. This in-person role requires adherence to WHMIS guidelines and a commitment to safety, quality, and patient comfort.

Qualifications include Grade 10, ability to read/write English, independence, teamwork, and strong interpersonal skills. Physical ability to lift and move heavy loads, with willingness to undergo Criminal Records and Vulnerable Sector checks.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Supervisor, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface Hospital the Housekeeping Porter is responsible for performing various cleaning functions/services throughout all areas of the Hospital campus; understanding and following Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) guidelines; and performing other related duties as assigned.


Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)


  • Grade 10.

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift, twist and reach continuously throughout the entire shift.

  • Ability to lift a minimum of approximately 50 lbs./23 kgs.

  • Ability to lift, push and pull heavy weights, climb ladders/skyjack/scissor lift.
