Job summary

Stephenson's Rental Services is looking for hands-on individuals to join our team in Ontario. The role focuses on cleaning, inspecting, and preparing a range of diesel and electrical equipment to rental readiness, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

You will follow OEM procedures, read manuals and schematics, and operate equipment to verify readiness. A valid G license and WHMIS-type training are assets, with a preference for mechanical aptitude and independent work capability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of generator servicing or related experience.
• G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Health and Safety training (WHMIS etc.) is an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean, check and adequately prepare diesel and electrical equipment to ensure rental readiness.
• Ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
• Follow checklists and refer to owner manuals and schematics.
• Operate and test equipment under actual operating conditions.
• Determine serviceability or need for repairs.
• Complete services to OEM specifications.
• Transfer product knowledge to customers and explain features and safety techniques.
• Maintain inventory control documents and Rental Management system data.

How You'll Contribute

• Clean, check and adequately prepare various diesel and electrical equipment, including diesel, gas and LP generators to ensure equipment is rental-ready.
• Ensure that all equipment is rental-ready and meets set quality and safety standards.
• Follow the appropriate checklists and procedures and can read and refer to owner's manuals and schematics.
• Operate and test equipment under actual operating conditions, where possible.
• Determine the serviceability or the need for the equipment repair.
• Complete all services to OEM specifications.
• Possess excellent product knowledge and can effectively transfer this knowledge to customers. This includes but is not limited to explaining features and benefits, safe operating techniques and promoting related accessories/products.
• Ensure every customer is treated in the same fair and consistent manner and resolving issues as they arise.
• Follow all paperwork and computer procedures related to servicing of equipment.
• Maintain all inventory control documents to preserve the integrity of the Rental Management computer system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of generator servicing or related experience.
• Heavy equipment or EGSA certification are assets but not required.
• G Class Driver's License and recent clean driver's abstract.
• Must possess a mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with Health and Safety training is an asset (i.e. WHMIS, etc.).
• Action-oriented with attention to detail and a focus on quality and safety.
