Job summary

City of Saint John is seeking a Manager Policy and Risk Management to lead research and analysis, policy development, and risk oversight. The role reports to the Inspector of Support Services and advises senior police staff on policy matters.

The incumbent will coordinate policy and risk initiatives for the organization, work with other police services nationwide to identify best practices, and oversee RTIPPA-related processes to ensure timely responses.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in research and analysis, policy review and development, and risk management.
• Experience in a police environment is an asset.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for document creation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports.
• Ability to lead and guide a team toward organizational goals.
• Excellent problem-solving and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and communicates policy and procedures to support organizational strategy.
• Identifies best practices and coordinates with stakeholders on policy issues.
• Performs risk assessments and establishes appropriate risk levels for the organization.
• Produces risk reporting tailored to audiences and supports training to raise risk awareness.
