GDI Ainsworth in Calgary seeks an experienced Commercial Plumbing Service Supervisor to lead the service team, oversee daily operations, ensure quality workmanship and safety, and maintain high customer satisfaction.

The role requires a Red Seal Journeyman with Gas ticket and 5+ years of supervisory experience in commercial settings, with strong communication and knowledge of local codes. Hybrid work is available where applicable, and a competitive benefits package is offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years commercial experience supervising teams.
• Red Seal Journeyman with Gas ticket (or recognized equivalent).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Commercial buildings and facilities.
• Working knowledge of current local codes, standards and regulations.
• Ability to make good and timely decisions, strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong commitment to safety with ability to enforce protocols.

• Supervise service field teams and subcontractors, ensure schedules, safety, and budgets.
• Confirm accurate layout of work with field teams per project plans.
• Mentor staff; conduct biweekly safety/toolbox meetings.
• Assist in pricing changed/additional work as needed.
• Coordinate with Service and Billing Coordinators to close activities on time.
• Perform material take-offs and coordinate deliveries to maximize field productivity.
• Attend weekly manpower and monthly safety/operations meetings.
• Adhere to all safety policies and HSE standards.
• Support hiring to fulfill service manpower requirements.
• Review safety forms and procedures with safety specialists.

Job description

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated commercial Plumbing Service Supervisor to lead our Calgary service team and oversee daily plumbing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing service technicians, coordinating commercial plumbing projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship, maintaining customer satisfaction, and promoting a safe and productive work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise plumbing service field teams and subcontractors on service work orders and small projects, ensuring schedules are met, safety protocols are followed, and costs remain within budget.
• Ensure accurate layout of work with field teams in accordance with project plans and specifications.
• Mentor staff and provide guidance, conduct biweekly safety/toolbox meetings.
• Participate in the pricing of changed/additional work when required.
• Collaborate with Service and Billing Coordinators to ensure all service activities are completed accurately and closed efficiently within established timelines.
• Perform material take-offs, coordinating material delivery and ensuring received orders are accurate and accounted for to maximize field productivity.
• Attend weekly manpower meetings and monthly safety/operations meetings as required.
• Adhere to all company safety policies and protocols.
• Fulfill service manpower requirements by working with management through the hiring process.
• Review all safety forms, policies and procedures and jointly work with safety specialists and all teams to ensure compliance to HSE Standards.
• Any other responsibilities directed by management.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Commercial buildings and facilities.
• Working knowledge of current local codes, standards and regulations.

• Strong commitment to safety with the ability to enforce strict safety protocols and guidelines.
