Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Plumbing Designer for our fast-moving Data Center practice in British Columbia, Canada. You will design plumbing/utility packages, prepare construction drawings for DWV, potable water, and related systems, and manage the schedule and quality of complex engineering tasks.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to establish design bases, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, and ensure client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule are met.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years' experience designing plumbing systems for industrial facilities.
  • Experience generating design documents adhering to CAD standards for plumbing design packages within an A&E firm.
  • Trade School or Associates Degree.
  • Proficiency in Revit.
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to design of plumbing systems.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work well within a dynamic team environment with multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Layout and design of Plumbing systems.
  • Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, including sizing calculations, Isometrics, Riser Diagrams, details, fixture schedules and general arrangements.
  • Development of final construction documents for domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, etc.
  • Coordination with other disciplines.

We're looking for an energetic, Plumbing Designer to focus on our fast-moving Data Center market. Join us, and you'll impact our success by delivering innovative plumbing design solutions for our Data Center clients. You will design plumbing/utility design packages for our data center clients. You'll also prepare construction package drawings for DWV, potable water, process drains, storm drains, and domestic water systems.

You'll be accountable for the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks as you gain familiarity with the client's expectations, scope, budget, and schedule. You'll work with a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to establish a plumbing design basis, coordinate with other engineering disciplines, Plumbing Engineers and develop a plumbing design package. Your role keeps our company connected, and we'll support you with what you need to be successful.

Highlights of your contributions will include
  • Layout and design of Plumbing systems
  • Development of conceptual design and preliminary design documents, which would include calculations related to sizing and selecting these systems, the development of Isometrics, Riser Diagrams, details, fixture schedules, and general arrangements.
  • Development of final construction documents associated with these systems. These systems would include domestic water (cold and hot), sanitary waste and vent, etc.
  • Coordination with other disciplines.

Here's what you'll need
  • At least 6 years' experience in the design of plumbing systems for industrial facilities.

Posted Salary Range Minimum

40,000.00

Posted Salary Range Upper

50,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $40,000.00 to $50,000.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across British Columbia, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
