Job summary

Jacobs in London, Ontario, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to tackle complex building and systems challenges, delivering design and integration of HVAC, cleanrooms, and process exhaust.

This role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 2+ years of design experience, and hybrid onsite work two days per week, with familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD/Navisworks and strong communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 2 years of practical application of mechanical engineering design in building systems (HVAC, piping, etc.).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams from preliminary design through site construction.
  • Ability to work onsite (hybrid) two days per week in London, Ontario, Canada.
  • 2 years semiconductor facility related experience.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) is a plus.
  • Experience with Revit or AutoCAD; Navisworks is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for schedule and technical quality of engineering tasks.
  • Provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate with discipline lead.
  • Deliver design, development, evaluation, and specification of engineered systems for building HVAC, cleanrooms, chilled/heating water, and process exhaust.

You'll also provide on-site assistance during startup, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead. Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 2 years of practical application of mechanical engineering design in building systems, such as HVAC, chilled and heating water systems, plumbing, and construction
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams from preliminary design through site construction
  • Ability to work onsite (hybrid) two days per week in London, Ontario, Canada
  • 2 years semiconductor facility related experience
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Working knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD software. With prior experience in Navisworks
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
  • Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
  • Passion for buildings and construction

The base salary range for this position is $69,500.00 to $95,500.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across Ontario, Canada locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
