Job summary

Allied Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. is seeking a Plumbing Service Manager with a Red Seal to lead our Metro Vancouver Plumbing team. You will drive growth, set vision, and deliver profitability while providing a positive working environment for technicians.

You will recruit, mentor and manage plumbing professionals, coordinate with customers and vendors, and oversee budgeting and training programs to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Red Seal is required for this leadership role in commercial plumbing & heating.
• Commercial plumbing & heating service experience is essential.
• Experience troubleshooting boilers, pumps and hydronic systems.
• Valid BC Driver’s License with a clean driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct and support Plumbing technicians to meet service demands and customer expectations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors and suppliers to convey job status and requirements.
• Recruit, interview, hire and train Plumbing technicians to meet workload demands.
• Supervise technicians to ensure proper installation, start-up, operation and performance.
• Prepare performance appraisals and conduct semi-annual reviews.
• Establish and maintain a regular training program for technicians.
• Mentor and coach technicians through one-on-one meetings.
• Coordinate with dispatch to optimize Plumbing Division operations.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and sub trades.
• Develop and monitor budgets, goals and profitability for the department.
• Ensure timely ordering of parts to meet deadlines.

Allied Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning Ltd. is hiring a Plumbing and Heating Service Manager to take over the management of our Metro Vancouver Plumbing team.

The Role

The successful candidate will be:

• Accountable for building, growing, leading and managing the Plumbing Division.
• Accountable to set, sell and deliver the vision to customers and the team.
• Accountable to provide overall guidance and vision for the Plumbing Division and to deliver to managements’ operational and budgetary goals and expectations.
• Accountable to provide a positive working environment for Plumbing technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, and provide support to, Plumbing technicians to meet service demands and customers’ expectations.
• Regularly communicate directly with customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure accurate communication of the job, project status and requirements.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train Plumbing technicians as required to meet workload demands, and company / customer expectations and requirements.
• Supervise and direct the Plumbing technicians to effectively perform the functions of equipment repair, installation, start-up, operation, and other duties as required to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Prepare Plumbing technicians’ performance appraisals, and conduct semi-annual performance reviews with each Plumbing technician.
• Establish and maintain a regular training program for Plumbing technicians.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with each technician for mentoring and coaching.
• Communicate openly with dispatch to ensure efficient and effective Plumbing Division operations.
• Maintain communication with vendors, suppliers and sub trades to build and maintain positive relationships.
• Develop and monitor budgets, goals and objectives to ensure departmental profitability.
• Ensure that required parts continue to be ordered in timely fashion so work deadlines are met.
• Ensure that all company/department policies are being followed by all Plumbing technicians.

Performance Standards

The successful candidate’s annual performance will be evaluated against:

• Driving department profitability to meet or exceed annual forecast.
• Growth of the department – in terms of sales, profit and staff numbers.

• Red Seal
• Commercial Plumbing and Heating service experience
• Experience troubleshooting boilers, pumps, and hydronic systems
• Valid BC Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Comfortable using mobile devices and cloud-based software
• Able to pass a criminal record check
