Join a leading educational institution as a plumber, responsible for installing and maintaining plumbing systems. This permanent position offers a 40-hour work week with opportunities for collaboration and professional growth. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor install, replace, update and maintain all Board plumbing, provide support for the Board plumbing operation, work with/assist other trades and supervise part time help.
Major Duties:
1. Install, replace, update and maintain all Board plumbing
2. Maintain Sprinkler Systems
3. Maintain Computers/Electronics
4. Work with/assist other trades as required
5. Supervise part-time help
6. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Equipment Used:
Plumbing tools: power augers, acetylene torches, electric welding equipment, pumps, acid pumps, assorted wrenches and cutting tools, ladders, scaffolding, vacuum, cleaners, electric drain cleaning equipment, large air compressor, truck/van
Other: kango guns, hoisting equipment, jacks, cherry pickers.
Qualifications:
1. Ontario Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing
2. Certified OWWA Connection Control Specialist
3. Certified Small Well Water Systems
4. Valid Drivers' License
5. Familiarity with W.H.M.I.S., Occupational Health and Safety regulations, fire regulations, building codes, Department of Health regulations, plumbing codes and general knowledge of other trades.
6. The ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and public.
This is a 40 hour per week, 12 month permanent day shift position.
