Job summary

The Ottawa Hospital is seeking an experienced Plumber to join our facilities team. The role requires a Certificate of Qualification in Plumbing, five years of relevant experience, and the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

You will perform cross-connection control and backflow prevention tasks, while adhering to current plumbing codes and safety standards. This full-time position offers a stable day shift (07:30–15:30), a competitive compensation package, and access to health, pension,

  • Five years of experience within the last ten years.

  • Good written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to interact well with a variety of individuals.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts (07:30-15:30).

Salary Information

The hourly rate includes a $6.250 market premium.

Basic Requirements
  • High School Diploma;
  • Certificate of Qualification (Plumbing) issued from the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities Ontario;
  • Certified in Cross Connections and Backflow Prevention;
  • Five (5) years experience, achieved within the last ten (10) years;
  • Good knowledge of plumbing codes and standards;
  • Confined Space Entry knowledge training;
  • CPR training;
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics;
  • Good diagnostic skills, use of measuring and test equipment;
  • Good written and oral communication skills in the English Language;
  • Ability to perform calculations related to the trade;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Ability to interact well with a variety of individuals.
