Our Ideal Candidate

Allnorth is currently looking for a knowledgeable and well rounded Junior to Intermediate Automation and Controls specialists that will be embedded within the client’s operations and maintenance team. The ideal candidate would be strong communicators and be able to interface with our customer and head office engineering teams. Meals, Accommodation and Transportation will be provided for this role. Expected timeline for this role would be 6-12 months.

A Day in the Life

The ideal candidate will be a responsible, motivated individual excited to join our ever-growing, enthusiastic automation team. Our team provides a full spectrum of automation knowledge within our group.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Provide Plant Maintenance activities for Automation / Controls support to multidisciplinary teams and third-party vendors (primarily associated with the Triconex Tricon safety system)
  • Understanding and development of engineering deliverables : P&IDs, Shutdown Keys, Control System Architectures, Control Narratives, Panel Drawings, I / O Drawings, etc
  • Programming / Configuration of Safety PLC systems (Tricon) and, possibly other PLC systems (Rockwell, Schneider, or others)
  • Support to MOCs (Management of Change) and support Operations with the implementation of bypasses when required
  • Participate in project planning and execution of critical tasks
  • Communicate to head office engineering teams for support
  • General office / project tasks.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Post-secondary degree / diploma in Engineering / Technology from a recognized faculty or equivalent qualification
  • 3-5 years experience in the Controls and Automation industry as an Engineer, Technologist, technically delivering on projects / part of maintenance team
  • Experience with other PLC systems and DeltaV DCS graphics and configuration is an asset
  • Strong experience with other PLC systems (Rockwell, Schneider, or others.) may be considered
  • A proven self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude who is motivated by solving complex challenges
  • A strong client-focused approach, dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences to our internal and external customers
  • Ability to multi-task, exercise good judgment and prioritize workload through outstanding organizational skills
  • Able to adapt to various situations quickly, while adhering to daily deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
