Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and automate cloud-based platforms and infrastructure. You will work across cloud environments, container orchestration, IaC, CI/CD, observability, and deployment, partnering with engineering and business teams.

You’ll contribute to secure, automated cloud environments, scalable architectures, and improved developer experiences, with emphasis on operational excellence and secure practices.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Platform Engineer or similar infrastructure role.
• Hands-on with major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Alibaba Cloud).
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficient in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile practices.
• Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, JavaScript, or Groovy).
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement cloud-based applications and infrastructure solutions.
• Build and maintain secure, resilient cloud environments.
• Automate cloud infrastructure and platform operations using IaC and DevOps practices.
• Implement and support containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Manage cloud infrastructure with focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
• Create reusable automation for provisioning and environment management.
• Support deployments, testing, and CI activities.
• Develop/Improve CI/CD pipelines for dependable software delivery.
• Implement monitoring/observability to preempt production issues.
• Create clear documentation for configurations and procedures.
• Champion security best practices across development and operations.
• Collaborate with engineers, security partners, and stakeholders to drive operational excellence.
