Description

At IMS, we’re on a mission to make driving safer and smarter through connected car and telematics innovation.

As a Platform Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting that mission by collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, and engineering teams to build, maintain, and continuously enhance the availability, security, and performance of our production and test environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for :

• Ensuring platform security, reliability, and performance across systems deployed in Canada, the UK, and AWS cloud environments
• Contributing to key projects, platform optimizations, and ongoing maintenance initiatives
• Driving scalability, observability, and operational excellence

Requirements

We believe you will need the following skills and experience to thrive in this role:

• Excellent customer-facing / customer service skills
• Linux System Administration
• Commercial experience with AWS cloud technologies, such as EC2, ECS, Route 53, EFS
• Scripting languages proficiency (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
• Understanding of containerization, microservice architecture, and cloud/software design patterns
• Experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab or similar
• Knowledge of security hardening and vulnerability management
• Experience with identity providers and SSO configurations (Azure AD, Ory, Cognito, Firebase)
• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with observability tools like Nagios, New Relic
• Ability to troubleshoot under pressure and meet deadlines
• Previous cloud engineering experience
• AWS certifications such as SysOps, Solutions Architect, or DevOps Engineer
• Understanding of SIEM setup and administration (e.g., Arctic Wolf)
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (RDS, DynamoDB, Cassandra)
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMWare, Hyper-V)
• Networking knowledge (LDAP, VPN, Firewalls)
• Configuration management experience (Ansible, Puppet)
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles

Bonus Qualifications :

• Linux system administration troubleshooting skills
• Basic AWS services knowledge (EC2, S, RDS, ECS)
• Database knowledge (MySQL, MariaDB, Cassandra)
• Monitoring tools familiarity (New Relic, CloudWatch, Nagios)
• ITIL framework awareness
• Security qualifications (NISC or similar)
