Job summary

Reworld Canada is seeking a Utility Operator to join our operations team. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation, inspection, cleaning, and housekeeping of equipment across the Residue Storage and Processing Building and adjacent areas.

Responsibilities include monitoring ash handling systems, residue processing, and metal recovery, along with reporting issues and maintaining 5S standards. Shift work, safety procedures, and training are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid 4th Class Operating Engineer Certificate.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or waste-to-energy experience is an asset.
• Ability to read and understand technical procedures and safety instructions.
• Ability to use a computer and complete online training.
• Commitment to safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and inspect ash handling, residue processing, and metal recovery equipment.
• Perform routine inspections of conveyors, magnets, non-ferrous recovery equipment, screens, crushers, ash conditioning equipment and related systems.
• Monitor equipment for abnormal conditions and report them to the Shift Supervisor.
• Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of equipment and work areas.
• Assist with routine maintenance activities and work evolutions.
• Participate in boiler cleanings, outages, shutdowns, and other plant work evolutions.
