Qualifications

• Experience in food processing or farming is an asset.
• WHMIS, Food Safe and First Aid are assets but not required; training provided.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Package whole birds and poultry parts into bags according to product specifications
• Weigh product to ensure accuracy and order compliance
• Seal and label packaged products
• Build and assemble boxes for packaging
• Pack finished product into boxes and prepare for shipment
• Stack boxes onto pallets safely
• Inspect product for defects and quality concerns prior to packaging
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in HACCP and safety standards
• Follow direction from Supervisors and Lead Hands

We’re hiring a dependable Packaging Labourer for our Yarrow location. Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry is looking for someone who is high-energy and motivated.

What you’ll do

• Package whole birds and poultry parts into bags according to product specifications
• Weigh product to ensure accuracy and compliance with order requirements
• Seal and label packaged products as required
• Build and assemble boxes for packaging
• Pack finished product into boxes and prepare for shipment
• Stack boxes onto pallets safely and efficiently
• Inspect product for defects, bruising, contamination, or quality concerns prior to packaging
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with HACCP and safety standards
• Handle packaging materials and finished goods safely
• Follow direction from Supervisors and Lead Hands
• Work in other departments as required

Who we’re looking for

• Ability to lift up to 30lbs repeatedly
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Repetitive hand and arm movements
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated processing environment
• Ability to bend, twist, and stack product consistently
• Looking for a long-term role with opportunities to grow at FVSP.
• Previous experience in farming or food processing, forklift operation, WHMIS, Food Safe, and First Aid are all assets but not required – we’re happy to train the right person!
