About FVSP

Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry (FVSP) is a well-established, family-owned poultry company with over 50 years of history in British Columbia. Unlike a typical distributor, we manage the full process — from farm production and processing to distribution and sales — serving restaurants, retailers, and food service customers across the Lower Mainland.

We take pride in a friendly, supportive, and team-oriented work environment where every team member is valued and plays a meaningful role in our day-to-day success. If you enjoy working with food, building relationships, and being part of a close-knit team — this is the place for you.

The Role

Fraser Valley Specialty Poultry is seeking an experienced and dedicated Breeder Farm Manager to oversee the care of our breeder duck flock, lead a team of farm hands, and maintain our breeding facilities to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise breeding processes to ensure healthy, high-quality poultry production.
  • Ensure proper feeding, housing, environment and ventilation for poultry.
  • Oversee the health of the birds, including disease prevention, treatment, regular health checks, vaccinations, and biosecurity measures.
  • Monitor egg production and manage bird nutrition for optimal health and productivity.
  • Train and mentor staff in best management practices and animal husbandry.
  • Train and supervise farm hands on operational procedures and safety protocols.
  • Cross training on all tasks with other staff so coverage is maintained at all times.
  • Oversee and direct labour to ensure efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of breeding data, health care, mortality, and feed consumption.
  • Ensure all record keeping and paperwork are completed and submitted appropriately.
  • Oversee the mortality composting process and turning and executing in a way to minimize odour.
  • Order and schedule regular bedding, feed, and other required farm production supplies.
  • Maintain breeding facilities, ensuring they are clean, well-organized and biosecure.
  • Proactively inform maintenance of required repairs within barns or equipment.
  • Ensure the farm-site, including barns and driveways, is tidy and debris‑free, striving for a “park‑like” condition.
  • Oversee basic inspections, washing, cleaning, greasing, and blowing of tractors, skid steers, and implements.
  • Maintain a solutions‑based approach to daily operations.
  • Communicate effectively with direct reports and other departments via email, phone and in person.
  • Ensure compliance with CFIA, Animal Welfare, environment regulations, company policies, HACCP, and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Strive for continuous improvement in farm practices, animal welfare, Health and Safety, and operational efficiencies.

  • Familiarity with breeding programs, egg production monitoring, and nutrition management
