Job summary

Linde Canada Inc. in Edmonton, AB is seeking a Plant Mechanic to install, troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment and facilities.

The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hands-on industrial environment. The role involves rotating equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and high‑pressure piping systems, with a focus on preventive and reactive maintenance to maximize reliability.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Certified Alberta journeyperson in a relevant trade (Industrial Mechanic or Electrician).
  • Experience with welding, PLCs, instrumentation, heavy-duty mechanical work, or cryogenic pumps is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble and reassemble rotating equipment to repair or replace components such as bearings, seals, and gears.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and related mechanical systems (compressors, pumps, blowers, valves).
  • Install, repair, and maintain high‑pressure piping systems (threaded and welded).
  • Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Use CMMS to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate parts, complete scheduled tasks, and document next steps.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Balance hands-on work with organization and documentation to keep operations running smoothly.

Plant Mechanic (Full Time)

The successful candidate requires the ability to work independently and with a team to perform a wide variety of skilled mechanical duties to install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical equipment and facilities.

Responsibilities
  • The role involves working hands‑on with rotating equipment—including pumps, gearboxes, compressors—disassembling and reassembling to repair or replace components such as bearings, seals, and gears.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain rotating equipment and related mechanical systems, including compressors, pumps, blowers, and valves.
  • Install, repair, and maintain high‑pressure piping systems, both threaded and welded.
  • Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate parts, complete scheduled tasks, and follow through on required next steps.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities in the system.
  • Combine technical hands‑on work with strong organization and documentation to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications
  • Certified Alberta journeyperson in a relevant trade such as Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Electrician.
  • Approximately 3+ years of hands‑on experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Experience with welding, PLCs, instrumentation, heavy‑duty mechanical work, or cryogenic pumps is a strong asset.
  • Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings.
