Job summary

Linde Canada Inc. is seeking an Air Separation Plant Operator to operate and troubleshoot our cryogenic plant in Andrews, MB.

You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, following strict safety and operating procedures, while coordinating with team members to maintain reliable plant performance. The role requires a high-school diploma or GED, SAIT or equivalent certificate (or 3–5 years of experience), and a 5th Class Power Engineering certificate within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED; SAIT certificate or 3–5 years of process ops experience.
• 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to obtain 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
• Strong computer/technical skills; operate both manual and highly automated equipment.
• Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime.
• Strong analytical/problem-solving abilities; good communication and a valid driver’s license.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 60 pounds and working in confined spaces.

• Operate the Air Separation Plant safely following established work processes.

• Follow Operating Discipline principles for safe and reliable plant operations.
• Operate and field-check process equipment; monitor conditions and control systems.

• Apply troubleshooting to resolve process deviations and issues.
• Perform basic repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance.
• Identify and implement plant performance improvements and train others.

The Plant Operator will operate the Air Separation Plant as per designated work processes, utilizing air separation / cryogenic process knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner. You will be able to work in a novel team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision.

• You will work 12-hour rotating shifts in a team environment where you often set priorities and complete work with minimal supervision
• Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and reliable plant operations
• In addition, you will operate and field-check process equipment, monitoring process conditions, equipment performance, and control systems
• Utilize multiple, complex plant computer control systems to oversee and adjust operations
• You shall apply troubleshooting skills to resolve process-related deviations and problems as they arise
• Perform basic troubleshooting, minor repairs, improvements, and preventive maintenance on process equipment to help maintain equipment reliability
• Also, you will use your process knowledge to identify and implement plant performance improvements and coach/train others on plant operations

What makes you great*

• You have a High-school diploma or GED; Power and Process Operations Certificate (SAIT) or equivalent or three to five ( 3–5) years of experience in a process operations role
• Previous experience in a continuous chemical process environment is an asset
• Ability to obtain a 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate within 18 months of hire
• Further, you have strong computer and technical skills with the ability to learn and operate both manual and highly automated process equipment
• You have the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required
• Strong ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; current and valid driver’s license
• Physically able to meet the demands of the role: lift up to 60 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in tight / confined spaces, and wear all required personal protective equipment
