Job Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the plant to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. This includes managing performance metrics such as safety, quality, cost reduction, and on-time delivery. The role involves providing leadership, developing employees, and driving lean manufacturing techniques while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Deployment & Operational Management
- Implement and manage policies in lean manufacturing, safety (OSHA compliance, Lockout/Tagout), quality control, cost reduction, and delivery performance.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through communication of routing/process changes.
- Manage employee relations, engagement, and plant performance measures (KPIs).
- Maintain plant cleanliness inside and outside.
- Employee Relations & Leadership
- Provide leadership and effective communication.
- Coach, mentor, and train employees, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate skill development.
- Planning & Workflow Management
- Review daily schedules, identify bottlenecks, and balance work capacity.
- Manage WIP inventory and NCRs to prevent accumulation.
- Safety & Compliance
- Monitor safety, enforce OSHA regulations, and train supervisors on incident reporting.
- Collaborate with HR and EHS for proper documentation.
- Continuous Improvement & Performance Analysis
- Analyze low-performance areas and develop improvement strategies.
- Oversee new procedures and work instructions development.
- Maintenance Management
- Oversee preventive maintenance, train employees on work order procedures, and monitor budgets.
Other Responsibilities
- Reduce plant overtime without affecting productivity.
- Assist with capital investments and improvements.
- Provide training on Amtech, job costing, post-job analysis, order processing, inventory management, and smart planning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Plant Manager or similar role in manufacturing.
- 3-5 years in production supervision or similar.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, OSHA regulations, and safety compliance.
- Experience with inventory control, scheduling, and capacity planning.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with Amtech or similar systems is a plus.
- High attention to detail and safety commitment.
