Job summary

The People Co. is seeking a hands-on Plant Manager for its Oakville-area facility to lead the general production operation and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

You will manage budgets, develop and execute an operations strategy to increase capacity, lower costs and maintain high customer service levels, while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance. This is a key stakeholder role in a growing company that invests in its people.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of plant management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years food or beverage manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the general production operation and drive efficiencies in ingredients manufacturing.
  • Participate in operating budgets and ensure budgeted numbers are attained or exceeded.
  • Create and implement an operations strategy to increase capacity, reduce costs and maintain high service levels.
  • Execute capital plans across the organization to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Provide leadership for safety, quality, production effectiveness, cost control and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure goals and KPIs are met and reporting is accurate.
  • Develop planning schedules and management reports.
  • Develop, implement and enforce SOPs and work aids.
  • Drive strategic plans to promote sales and profitability growth.
  • Provide direction to staff with clear job descriptions and performance conversations.
  • Conduct audits and inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Ensure finished product meets quality standards

Our client is a leading manufacturing company that is looking to bring on board a hands on, continuous improvement oriented Plant Manager for their facility in the Oakville area.

What we are looking for you to do
  • :Accountability for the general production operation and efficiencies of ingredients manufacturing
  • .Actively participate in operating budgets and subsequently ensuring budgeted numbers are attained or exceeded
  • .Create and implement an operations strategy that focuses on increasing facility capacity, lowers costs and achieves high customer service levels
  • .Execute corporate capital plans by working collaboratively across the organization to complete projects on time and on budget
  • .Provide leadership for all aspects of operations including employee health, safety and training, food safety, facility defense, product quality, production effectiveness, cost control and continuous improvement
  • .Ensure all goals and objectives are met including the measurement of key performance indicators
  • .Provide accurate planning schedules and reports
  • .Ensure company policy and departmental Standard Operating Procedures, forms and work aids are developed, implemented, enforced and reviewed
  • .Implement strategic plans to advance the company's mission and objectives to promote sales and profitability growth
  • .Provide direction to staff regarding assigned tasks and performance expectations through the use of clear job descriptions, regular performance conversations, coaching, team meetings and business reviews
  • .Conduct spot investigations/ audits and regular inspections to ensure all work is performed safely
  • .Ensure finished product meets and exceeds established quality standards
