Job Description

Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner, accurately track and record KPI’s.

Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays. Prepare and maintain appropriate production record systems utilizing AX etc.

Ensure the efficient management of operations of a multiple shift production facility and ensure the proper functioning of equipment identifying and resolving potential problems

Deliver Results

• Manufacture in the most efficient, productive and cost effective manner
• Review efficiency, cost and production reports daily, identify the top 3 losses / problem areas and make the necessary corrections, adjustments or improvements
• Optimize machine performance, efficiency and productivity optimization, need to meet targets
• Support and participate in developing the business plan, deliver results and be held accountable
• Customer Service Oriented, commit to making what is on the schedule on time
• Lead a plant of 80+ employees including production, maintenance and distribution departments.
• Positively influence changes, speak as a Techo-Bloc ambassador. Be seen and heard as a Leader
• Constant Communication with other managers,Maintenance, Fleet Manager, Yard/Logistics Manager, HR and Customer Service ensuring the most productive and cost-effective plan is obtained. Partnership environment
• Communicate, implement and apply policies and procedures
• Communicate administrative needs or requirements to HR and others for support
• Recruit and hire production team, Develop Autonomous work force, give responsibility, recognize positive results and hold accountable when not delivered
• Motivate personnel, Positive influence, Lead by example.

Planning

• Work with planning to optimize output (ex: faster change-over, wet vs. dry, paver to wall, etc.)
• Plan with maintenance the best time to Repair, Replace or do Preventive Maintenance
• Plan and share resources to optimize productivity and reduce costs,
• With the support of HR, develop training program and ensure succession plan (backup). Define roles and responsibilities for direct reports and establish short term and long-term objectives. Develop and promote key players

Verification

• Constant verification of all equipment to ensure proper functioning and detect potential problems before they occur
• Use data from reports to identify area of improvements, reduce waste, reduce breakdowns, and improve efficiencies
• Track and communicate efficiency from start to finish (sand to finished saleable product)
• Verify costs and expenses prior to making decisions (budget)
• Constant verifications of products to ensure superior quality and reduce scrap & waste
• Verify check lists, visual check list and ensuring that all equipment is inspected daily

Safety

• Inspire desired workplace safety behaviors defined in our 8 Step Safety Program. Leading and sustaining a safe place to work environment. Lead and Ensure compliance with all OSHA programs. Co- Lead Safety Committee program.

Important to the role

• Spends 60 % of time on the shop floor not in the office;
• Thisrole is designed as a Monday to Friday fulltime position,; however, the right candidate has the willingness towork flexible manufacturing schedules including nights, weekends, etc. when needs demand;

Qualifications

Technical skills and acumen

• 7+ years of work experience in a production or manufacturing environment position.
• University-level education
  • B.S. in engineering, business management or related discipline preferred
• Excellent proven people leadership and change management skills
• Ability to quickly establish credibility to develop and maintain excellent business relations both internally and externally. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Mechanically inclined with basic knowledge of electronics and programmable controllers, with excellent trouble shooting skills
• Strong abilities in planning, organizing, project management, and problem solving
• Able to work flexible schedules including nights and weekends when necessary
• Experience with Microsoft AX, Microsoft Office tools, ERP systems,and astrong Excel acumen;
• Strong success track record of ability to plan, organize, implement, and inspire adoption of programs, processes, etc.;
• Loyalty, honesty, humbleness and transparency
• Have a strong work ethic, always consider the Company’s best interest before making a decision
• Deliver results with the highest quality standards – never accept mediocrity
• Have a customer-oriented approach
