Job summary

Darling International Canada Inc. in Moorefield, Ontario is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the safe, reliable operation of plant equipment and infrastructure.

You will supervise the maintenance team, oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and ensure compliance with OHSA, CFIA, HACCP, and GMP standards while contributing to capital planning and continuous improvement. The role requires 3–5 years of maintenance leadership, a trade certification (Millwright or Electrician),

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing or food processing.
• 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing, food processing, or similar industrial environment.
• A relevant trade certification (e.g., Millwright, Electrician) is required. A university degree in Engineering or a college diploma in a related technology discipline is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of OHSA, environmental regulations, CMMS, and maintenance best practices.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and hold a team accountable.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; CMMS experience is an asset.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and oversee capital projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; root-cause analysis experience.
• Able to manage competing priorities and lead through change in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach maintenance team; ensure safety-focused culture.
• Develop weekly/monthly maintenance schedules to optimize reliability and control costs.
• Manage preventive/predictive maintenance programs and CMMS backlog.
• Lead root-cause analysis and implement long-term fixes.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and contractor work.
• Prepare and manage annual maintenance budget and capital projects.
• Ensure compliance with OHSA, CFIA, HACCP, GMP standards.
