Job Profile

General Description

This position is responsible for accounting at the assigned plant, including month-end close, analysis, accounts payable, accounts receivable, SOX compliance, and plant administrative support. The Plant Controller reports directly to the Divisional Controller and indirectly to the Plant Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

• Responsible for accounts payable entries and weekly check runs.
• Manage cash posting, collections, and accounts receivable analysis.
• Analyze and record accruals.
• Review inventory movements, including job costs, PPV, and physical inventory.
• Prepare and upload plant reporting packages into SAP.
• Handle monthly tax reports.
• Reconcile sales, bank accounts, and balance sheets monthly.
• Prepare cost reports.
• Establish, maintain, and reconcile various accounts using computerized bookkeeping systems.
• Post entries to the general ledger and reconcile accounts.
• Manage office supplies, equipment, and janitorial staff as office manager.
• Supervise accounting assistants and office staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Experience: 7-10 years, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Languages: English and French.
• Skills: Organization, communication, attention to detail, planning, analytical skills.
• Knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, standard accounting systems, manufacturing variances.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and present results.
