Job summary

Lever, Inc. operates a state-of-the-art plant in the Calgary region and seeks a Plant Accountant to lead full-cycle accounting, close processes, and inventory control.

You will work closely with Finance, Operations, and Production to ensure accurate financial records and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a CPA–related credential is an asset.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or project-based environment.
• Hands-on experience with full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with inventory, cost accounting, WIP, or manufacturing accounting preferred.
• Experience using ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including accruals, prepaids, payroll entries, working papers, and financial reporting.
• Review AP and AR transactions and assist with vendor and customer reconciliations.
• Support inventory counts, reconciliations, valuation, Work-in-Progress (WIP) accounting, cost allocations, and variance analysis.
• Monitor manufacturing and project costs and support month-end inventory adjustments.
• Assist with payroll reconciliations, GST returns, regulatory filings, and external audit requests.
• Support procurement activities, including purchase orders, vendor onboarding, three-way matching, and open PO management.
• Partner with Operations and Production to support purchasing and inventory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and support ERP/system enhancements.
