About the Job

The Planner reports into the Lead Planner and develops the bid schedule for large transit and civil projects, turning the construction methodology into a credible, competitive and logically sound programme. The schedule drives indirect costs, cash flow, resource planning and the owner's evaluation of the bid, so this role sits at the centre of the tender team.

What You Will Be Doing?

  • Develop detailed Level 3 bid schedules in Primavera P6 covering design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and handover
  • Work with estimators and engineers to define construction methods, sequencing, production rates and critical path
  • Plan key transit-specific activities: TBM launch and retrieval, station excavation, guideway erection, track installation, systems installation, and integrated testing
  • Model third-party interfaces, including utility relocations, rail possessions, road closures, permits and owner-supplied works
  • Prepare schedule narratives, milestone plans, logistics and phasing plans for owner submissions
  • Support schedule risk analysis and help define schedule contingency
  • Provide resource-loaded or cost-loaded schedules to support indirect cost estimates and cash flow
  • Produce clear graphics for proposals, e.g. summary schedules, linear (time-distance) charts, and 4D sequence visuals
  • Update the schedule quickly as design, methodology and scope change through the bid

What We Are Looking For?

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • 5+ years of planning and scheduling experience on large civil, transit or infrastructure projects, ideally including tender-phase planning
  • Expert in Primavera P6; familiarity with MS Project
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction sequencing and productivity
  • PMI-SP, PMP or AACE (PSP) designation is an asset
  • Willingness to travel on a needed basis (within Canada)

Compensation:
