Job summary

Sedgman is seeking a Senior Planner to develop and maintain comprehensive project programs for a large EPCM project in Canada. You will track progress, manage critical paths, and deliver forecasts and S-Curves to support decision making.

The role requires strong communication, bilingual French and English abilities, and experience with Primavera P6, Excel, and MS Project. On-site work in Canada with client coordination is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of planning experience within engineering, mining, construction, or oil and gas industries.
• tertiary qualification or equivalent in a related field
• 2 years of practical on-site experience preferred
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel, and Microsoft Project
• Strong background in program status updates and detailed reporting including Earned Value Analysis and progress S-Curves
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
• Excellent spoken and written French; strong spoken English for daily client interaction

Responsibilities

• Analyse critical path activities
• Participate in team program reviews and interactive progress updates
• Integrate subcontractor, supplier, and service-provider programs into the overall project program
• Track, monitor, and manage project progress including external interfaces and provide corrective guidance
• Compile and present prioritised lists of upcoming tasks and key milestones
• Provide timely, accurate project reports including forecasts and progress S-Curves
• Assess and report changes in project scope and their impact on budget, timeline and resources
• Collaborate with procurement on procurement and expediting activities
• Support a major EPCM project underway

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of planning experience within the engineering, mining, construction, or oil and gas industry
• Tertiary qualification or equivalent in a related field
• Preferably, at least 2 years of practical on-site experience
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Excel, and Microsoft Project; other planning software will also be considered
• Strong background in program status updates and detailed reporting, including Earned Value Analysis and progress S-Curves
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
• Excellent spoken and written French
• Strong spoken English skills required due to daily contact with clients, suppliers, partners, and colleagues based outside Quebec
