You will oversee safety orientation, hazard identification, and incident investigations while coordinating with operations to maximize equipment availability at minimal cost.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of proven leadership with ability to mentor a team in a chargehand role or higher.
• AFPA lumber grading certificate or willingness to acquire at earliest opportunity.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with conflict management, coaching and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge; computer literate with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, training and development to hourly personnel while championing the safety program.
• Manage safety, including orientation, training, hazard identification, investigations and site audits.
• Achieve quality and production KPIs and strive for operational excellence.
• Collaborate with operations to improve reliability and maximize equipment availability at low cost.
• Train and develop every member of the planer crew.
• Communicate goals and expectations with all employees in the planer, kilns and lumber yard.
