Job summary

SECURE in Kerrobert, SK is seeking a Terminal Operator to monitor the pipeline gathering system via SCADA, oversee blending operations, and perform basic product tests in lab and field. This on-site role requires strong safety discipline and the ability to work a 12-hour shift cycle.

The position is based in Kerrobert, SK, with days and nights on a 7-on/7-off rotation. You will contribute to efficient operations while maintaining regulatory compliance and quality testing throughout daily duties.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean record.
  • Current safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG.
  • Ability to clearly document work activities and communicate with the Facility Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the pipeline gathering system via SCADA with limited supervision.
  • Ensure accurate on-spec blending and daily pumping schedules.
  • Recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions, alarms, leaks and emergencies.
  • Log data and communicate during shift handovers; prioritize console activities.
  • Perform plant rounds, sampling, lab tests, and day-to-day site activities including minor maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Complete work permits and job hazard assessments; support safe execution of work.
  • Participate in ERP training and updates to ERP manuals and equipment documentation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems; assist with incident reporting and resolution.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Facility Manager.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As Terminal Operator, you are responsible for monitoring the conditions of the pipeline gathering system including product quality ensuring compliance with all safety and government regulations. You will ensure that the pipeline system and tank farm blending operation is operating at a high level of efficiency. This is a dual-purpose role which includes monitoring a pipeline system via SCADA equipment, working outside and in a lab performing basic product quality tests.

This position is based in Kerrobert, SK.

Work Environment

This position is a 12-hour shift with 7 days on and 7 days off, rotating between days and nights.

A Day in The Life
  • Operate and continuously monitor the pipeline gathering system via SCADA control system with limited supervision.
  • Ensure accurate on-spec blending of multiple products and execute daily pumping schedules and blending requirements.
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to abnormal operating conditions, alarm conditions, leak detection events, and emergency situations.
  • Log all pertinent day-to-day data, communicate information during shift handovers, and prioritize required console activities.
  • Perform plant rounds, equipment checks, basic sampling, lab tests, and day-to-day site activities including minor maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Conduct visitor and contractor orientations and evaluate contractor performance as required.
  • Complete work permits, job hazard assessments, and support safe execution of work activities.
  • Participate in Emergency Response Plan (ERP) training exercises and support updates to ERP, operating manuals, and equipment documentation.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems and assist with incident reporting and resolution.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the Facility Manager.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Understanding of SCADA systems and hardware considered an asset
  • Experience with pipeline operations and procedures considered an asset
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and successful completion of pre-employment testing.
  • Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS and TDG, Ground Disturbance, ICT
  • Ability to clearly and accurately document work activities and maintain effective communication with the Facility Manager and key stakeholders.
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively train and mentor others on plant processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all aspects of work.
