Job summary

SECURE is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead the safe, efficient day-to-day operations of our Facility south of Grande Prairie, AB. You’ll supervise operators, train staff, and align with our corporate vision, ensuring regulatory compliance and high performance across shifts.

You will champion safety programs, coach teams, and drive SOPs while collaborating with Area Managers and support groups to implement best practices, keeping customers satisfied and costs in check.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED required.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in waste processing, oil treating, water injection, or landfill operations.
• Valid industry safety tickets.
• Strong leadership and clear communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and company applications.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

The Operations Supervisor plays an integral role in leading the safe and effective day-to-day operations of the Facility. The Operations Supervisor is a people leader who sets the culture and is responsible for leading the operators in a healthy, safe, and environmentally responsible manner that is aligned with the corporate vision, mission, and values. The Operations Supervisor has strong technical knowledge of the Facility and is responsible for the oversight of training, supervising, and coaching the Operators at site. The Operations Supervisor monitors the overall daily effectiveness of the Facility and ensures compliance with company procedures and practices. The Operations Supervisor maintains strong communication with the Area Manager to ensure alignment, operational excellence, and that critical information is being cascaded.

This position is located south of Grande Prairie, AB.

Work Environment

The role of Operations Supervisor is structured as a full-time position, working 5 days a week, 40 hours.

A Day in The Life

• Leading the day-to-day activities of operations and the operations staff
• A people leader who leads in alignment with SECURE's values and expectations including setting clear expectations, managing operators' performance, and providing feedback to build high-performance teams
• Completing progressions and performance reviews with the operators
• Accessible and available to the operators to assist with afterhours issues
• Fostering an environment that promotes the Vision and Culture of the organization
• Leading the safety culture, specifically aiding in the development and delivery of programs and initiatives
• Ensuring compliance with safety practices and procedures
• Ensuring consistent, cost-effective, and technically sound operations
• Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensuring that they are being upheld through training, coaching and leadership oversight
• Ensuring compliance with all government and environmental regulatory standards
• Ensuring excellent customer service standards
• Evaluating Key Performance Indicators to achieve targets and determine required actions for improvement
• Collaborating with other Operations Leaders (Area Managers, General Managers) and Support teams to share and implement best practices
• Plays a critical role in supporting the Area Manager including taking on delegation duties from Area Manager when applicable and collaborating with support groups

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Grade 12 or General Education Diploma (GED) education
• A valid Class 5 driver's license
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in one or more of the following: waste processing, oil treating and/or water injection, landfill operations, or related industry experience
• Valid industry safety tickets
• Strong attention to detail and ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to staff
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports
• Proficient with company applications and Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OSI PI, Power BI, MOC, Sharepoint, Certify, Open Invoice, UltiPro, iTRAK and Solver)
