Job summary

Canoco Civil is seeking experienced Pipelayers to join our Civil team in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, AB. You will install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems while reading grade stakes and project specs.

Safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship are essential traits for this role. Ideal candidates have at least one year of piping experience, knowledge of trench safety, and the ability to work with heavy equipment in outdoor conditions.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Pipelayer in civil construction
• Experience installing water, sanitary, storm, and drainage systems
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and specifications
• Knowledge of trench safety requirements and underground utility installation practices
• Experience working around excavators and other heavy equipment
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist the crew where needed
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and punctual
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License required

Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems
• Read and interpret grade stakes, utility drawings, and project specifications
• Assist with trench preparation, pipe alignment, bedding, and backfilling activities
• Ensure proper pipe placement, elevations, and connections are completed to project requirements
• Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and survey crews
• Install manholes, catch basins, culverts, and related underground infrastructure
• Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and job site requirements
• Assist with general civil construction activities as required

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Pipelayers to join our Civil team in Edmonton and
Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The ideal candidate will have experience installing
underground utility systems, including water, sewer, storm, and drainage
infrastructure. This individual takes pride in quality workmanship, works

Key Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems


• Read and interpret grade stakes, utility drawings, and project specifications


• Assist with trench preparation, pipe alignment, bedding, and backfilling activities
