The role emphasizes safety, outdoor work in varying weather, and reliability. A valid Class 5 driver’s license is required; CSTS, Ground Disturbance Level II, and Confined Space

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Pipelayer in civil construction.
• Experience installing water, sanitary, storm, and drainage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, grades, and specifications.
• Knowledge of trench safety requirements and underground utility installation practices.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Pipelayers to join our Civil team in Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan, AB. The ideal candidate will have experience installing underground utility systems, including water, sewer, storm, and drainage infrastructure. This individual takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely, and contributes positively to a team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install underground water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and drainage systems
• Read and interpret grade stakes, utility drawings, and project specifications
• Assist with trench preparation, pipe alignment, bedding, and backfilling activities
• Ensure proper pipe placement, elevations, and connections are completed to project requirements
• Work closely with equipment operators, foremen, and survey crews
• Install manholes, catch basins, culverts, and related underground infrastructure

Qualifications & experience

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Pipelayer in civil construction

• Experience working around excavators and other heavy equipment
• Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist the crew where needed
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and punctual
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required

Assets

• Experience with municipal infrastructure and underground utility projects
• Experience installing large-diameter pipe
• CSTS, Ground Disturbance Level II, and Confined Space certifications
• Experience working with laser levels and grade checking equipment
