Job summary

G&E Contracting LP in Victoria, BC is seeking an Experienced Pipe Layer for a full-time role based out of Langford yard with local sites. You will report to the Site Foreman and contribute to installing drain, sewer, water utilities, and road work.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction/pipe laying, a valid Class 5 license, and strong teamwork and safety awareness. Wages are competitive, with an hourly rate starting around $35, and you will be part of the employee-owned Mainroad Group

Qualifications

• Minimum five years' experience in construction and pipe laying.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with clean record.
• Physically able to perform heavy labour.
• Able to operate excavation equipment.
• Team player with safety focus.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with excavation and installation of drain and sewer lines.
• Work around excavation equipment and shoring systems.
• Installing water, sewer, and drainage utilities.
• Accurately grade trenches for pipe installation.
• Grading for road works.

Description

An opportunity exists at G&E Contracting LP for an Experienced Pipe Layer. This is a full-time position based out G&E’s Langford yard in Victoria with jobsites in the local area, reporting to the Site Foreman.

The successful candidate shall have the following qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in construction and pipe laying
• Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract is required
• Secondary school graduate is preferred
• Able to work with and around excavation equipment
• Capable of performing heavy physical labour
• Dedicated, committed and safety conscious.
• Able to work within a team environment
• Able to take direction and instructions

Job duties include the following:

• Accurately grade trenches for pipe installation
