Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking a Pipefitter/Plumber to join our team and support the department and Superintendent. You will lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems for water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in various processes.

Qualified candidates have apprenticeship experience or equivalent pipefitting background, a valid HDPE Fusion ticket is a plus, and a willingness to work a 14/7 rotation away from home. Your own basic trade tools are required.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program or relevant pipefitting experience.
• HDPE Fusion ticket is an asset.
• Willing to work a 14/7 rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless-steel piping.
• Knowledge of water treatment or wastewater facility construction is an asset.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, or fuel.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies.
• Establish control points with accuracy and transfer levels over large distances.
• Operate safefully using forklifts, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Work on threaded PVC, CPVC, HDPE, PFA, PEX, and Victaulic piping.

As our Pipefitter/Plumber, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Proficient in safe methods of hoisting, rigging, and scaffold erection.
• Proficient in material take-offs.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Establishing control points with accuracy.
• Able to transfer levels over large distances with accuracy
• Working on threaded PVC, CPVC HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping systems

Qualifications Needed

• Appropriate level of experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Experience with compressed air piping and process hot/cold water piping systems.
• Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless‑steel piping.
• Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction an asset.
• Valid Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
• Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing may be required.
