Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking a Pipefitter/Plumber to support the department and Superintendent in a collaborative team environment. Responsibilities include safe operation of equipment, fabricating and repairing piping systems, and performing hydrotests within modular assemblies.

The role requires experience in pipefitting or being enrolled in an apprenticeship, with assets for a HDPE Fusion ticket and the ability to work a 14/7 rotation away from home.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship program enrollment or suitable pipefitting experience.
• HDPE Fusion ticket is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Use equipment safely (forklift, scissor lifts, power tools).
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals or fuel.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within modular assemblies.
• Establish control points and transfer levels with accuracy.
• Work with threaded PVC, CPVC, HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping.

As our Pipefitter/Plumber, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview:

• Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, scissor lifts, and power tools.
• Proficient in safe methods of hoisting, rigging, and scaffold erection.
• Proficient in material take-offs.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair pressurized piping systems.
• Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
• Establishing control points with accuracy.
• Able to transfer levels over large distances with accuracy
• Working on threaded PVC, CPVC HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping systems

Qualifications Needed:

• Appropriate level of experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
• HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
• Must be able to work a 14/7 work rotation with extended time away from home.
• Own and maintain basic trade tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Experience with compressed air piping and process hot/cold water piping systems.
• Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless‑steel piping.
• Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction an asset.
• Valid Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
• Pre‑Access drug & alcohol testing may be required.
