Job summary

FWS Group of Companies is seeking Pipefitters/Plumbers for projects in Northern BC and SK to join a collaborative, team-focused organization. The role involves piping systems installation, hydrotesting, and field fabrication across heating, cooling, and process lines.

Applicants should have pipefitting experience or be enrolled in an Apprenticeship, possess basic trade tools, and be able to work extended rotations away from home. Hazmat-free and safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
  • HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
  • Must be able to work a 14/7 and/or 14/14 work rotation with extended time away from home.
  • Own and maintain basic trade tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of pipe, valve, and fitting fabrication by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending.
  • Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless-steel piping.
  • Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater facility construction an asset.
  • Valid Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
  • Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safe and conscientious use of equipment including forklift, scissor lifts, and power tools.
  • Proficient in safe methods of hoisting, rigging, and scaffold erection.
  • Proficient in material take-offs.
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals, or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes.
  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain, and repair pressurized piping systems.
  • Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required.
  • Establishing control points with accuracy.
  • Able to transfer levels over large distances with accuracy.
  • Working on threaded PVC, CPVC HDPE, PFA, PEX and Victaulic piping systems

As our Pipefitter/Plumber, you will provide support to the department and Superintendent.

Position Overview

Qualifications Needed
  • Appropriate level of experience in pipefitting or enrolled in an Apprenticeship Program.
  • HDPE Fusion ticket would be an asset.
  • Must be able to work a 14/7 and/or 14/14 work rotation with extended time away from home.
  • Own and maintain basic trade tools.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, and bending of pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Experience with compressed air piping and process hot/cold water piping systems.
  • Experience with PVC/HDPE and stainless-steel piping.
  • Knowledge of water treatment and/or wastewater treatment facility construction an asset.
  • Valid Zoom Boom ticket is considered an asset.
  • Pre-Access drug & alcohol testing might be required.
