Job summary

Kiewit Construction ULC is seeking experienced TIG and SMAW welders foremen for the Woodfibre LNG project in Squamish, BC. This full-time, project-based position offers 14 x 7 day shifts with 10-hour days and overtime per the collective agreement.

Minimum requirements include a Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or equivalent, 5+ years in TIG GTAW and SMAW, and the ability to obtain BC registration. Applicants must pass welding tests and be able to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or equivalent certification.
• Willingness to obtain BC registration if applicable.
• 5+ years of TIG GTAW welding stainless steel and carbon.
• 5+ years of SMAW hand welding experience.
• RMD experience is an asset.
• Must pass weld tests per company standards (Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW).
• Experience welding in outdoor environments and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Complete carbon steel and stainless steel closure welds for module interconnects.
• Perform welds in tight spaces and at heights.
• Weld for new construction piping systems and related structures.

Kiewit is hiring experienced TIG & RMD/FCAW B-Pressure Hand Welder Foremans for the Woodfibre project located in Squamish, BC.

Hiring: Up to 20 positions

Terms of employment : Full-time; project-based

Job Duties

Duties include:

• Completing carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects
• Working in tight spaces/at heights
• Completing carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket oran equivalentcertification with the ability and willingness to apply for a recognized credential through a provincialtradesqualifier program.
• If you hold an equivalent certification/experience, you must be willing and able to obtain BC registration
• 5+ years’ experience with TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon
• 5+ years’ experience with stick (SMAW) hand welding
• RMD experience is an asset
• Must pass weld tests per company standards – Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW
• Must have experience performing welding work in outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and restricted spaces

Shift Information

14 x 7 days, 10-hour shifts;overtime as per collective agreement

  • Successful completion of 30 DI using RMD
  • Completion of 50 DI with no repair
