Job summary

Kiewit Construction ULC is hiring experienced TIG & RMD/FCAW B-Pressure Hand Welders for the Woodfibre project in Squamish, BC. 14 x 7 day shifts, 10-hour days, with overtime per collective agreement.

Requirements include Journeyperson Red Seal or equivalent, 5+ years TIG and 5+ years SMAW with outdoor environment experience; BC registration willingness; ability to pass strict weld tests.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal or equivalent certification; ability to apply for provincial credentials.
• 5+ years’ TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon.
• 5+ years’ experience with SMAW hand welding.
• RMD experience is an asset.
• Must pass weld tests: Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW.

Responsibilities

• Complete carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects.
• Work in tight spaces and at heights.
• Complete carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems.

Hiring: Up to 10 positions

Job Duties

Duties include:

• Completing carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects
• Working in tight spaces/at heights
• Completing carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket oran equivalentcertification with the ability and willingness to apply for a recognized credential through a provincialtradesqualifier program.
• If you hold an equivalent certification/experience, you must be willing and able to obtain BC registration
• 5+ years’ experience with TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon
• 5+ years’ experience with stick (SMAW) hand welding
• RMD experience is an asset
• Must pass weld tests per company standards – Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW
• Must have experience performing welding work in outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and restricted spaces

Shift Information

14 x 7 days, 10-hour shifts;overtime as per collective agreement

• If DSP: $63.35
• Additional site premiums available upon:
• Successful completion of 30 DI using RMD
• Completion of 50 DI with no repair
• Union Benefits – 6% vacation pay, 4.4% statutory holiday pay, health and welfare benefits (disability insurance, dental insurance, extended medical coverage, RSP contributions, matching pension contributions
