Job summary

Kiewit is hiring experienced TIG & RMD/FCAW B-Pressure Hand Welder Foremans for the Woodfibre project located in Squamish, BC.

Shift pattern is 14 x 7 days with 10-hour shifts; accommodation provided. Applicants must hold a Red Seal or BC Class A Pressure Welder certification and have 5+ years in TIG and SMAW welding, with RMD as an asset. Canadians and permanent residents prioritized.

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or equivalent credential.
• BC Class A Pressure Welder certification; willingness to obtain BC registration if needed.
• 5+ years TIG welding stainless steel and carbon; 5+ years SMAW hand welding.
• RMD experience is an asset.
• Experience welding outdoors in varied weather and restricted spaces.

Job Duties

• Completing carbon steel & stainless steel (304L) closure welds for module interconnects
• Working in tight spaces/at heights
• Completing carbon steel and stainless steel (304L) welds for new construction piping systems

Requirements

• Valid Journeyperson Red Seal Welding ticket or an equivalent certification with the ability and willingness to apply for a recognized credential through a provincial trades qualifier program.
• Valid BC Class A Pressure Welder certification
  • If you hold an equivalent certification/experience, you must be willing and able to obtain BC registration
• 5+ years’ experience with TIG (GTAW) welding stainless steel and carbon
• 5+ years’ experience with stick (SMAW) hand welding
• RMD experience is an asset
• Must pass weld tests per company standards – Stainless TIG, Carbon TIG, Carbon Stick, RMD/FCAW
• Must have experience performing welding work in outdoor environments, varying weather conditions, and restricted spaces

Shift Information

14 x 7 days, 10-hour shifts; overtime as per collective agreement

• Base Wage: $54.00 for B-Pressure Tig Welders
• Additional site premiums available upon:
  • Successful completion of 30 DI using RMD
  • Completion of 50 DI with no repair
• Union Benefits – 6% vacation pay, 4.4% statutory holiday pay, health and welfare benefits (disability insurance, dental insurance, extended medical coverage, RSP contributions, matching pension contributions
• Upon an offer, all candidates must be able to pass a SureHire Drug, Alcohol, & 50lb Fitness-to-work test
