Job summary

Perimeter Aviation LP seeks a 705 Captain to transport passengers safely and efficiently in Canada. You will fly the DHC-8, adhere to SOPs and Transport Canada rules, and maintain on-time performance with strong customer service focus.

You must hold an ATPL with 2000 hours total time and 500 hours on DHC-8, plus Category 1 Medical. Fluency in English and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

• ATPL licence mandatory for captain role.
• 500 hours on DHC-8 (assets for airline experience).
• Total flight time 2000 hours minimum.
• Category 1 Medical clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Operate flights following SOPs, regulations and manuals.
• Assess weather, NOTAMs, fuel and weight/balance requirements.
• Prepare and review Operational Flight Plan (Type B 705).
• Perform pre-flight inspections and post-flight duties.
• Coordinate with dispatcher and ensure on-time performance.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Chief Pilot, the 705 Captain transports thousands of passengers each year. As a pilot, your number one priority is to conduct each flight safely, taking into consideration the comfort of each passenger and on-time performance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Conduct flights with strict adherence to the Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and the Company Operations Manual
• Check weather, all applicable NOTAMs where available and determine fuel and oil requirements
• Calculate the airplane weight and balance
• Review, amend and accept the Operational Flight Plan(Type B 705 operation)
• Complete an airplane pre-flight inspection before each departure
• Load, unload and secure cargo/freight as required
• Complete flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher (Type B 705 operation)
• Complete all post flight duties, including notification/confirmation to the Company of the whereabouts of the airplane when away from base, recording flight times and any defects
• Continue to meet and exceed the Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
• Category 1 Medical
• Current Group 1 Instrument Rating
• Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) required with 500 hours on DHC-8 preferred
• 2000 hour Total Time required
• Previous airline experience is considered an asset
• Pilots must be fluent in English, and be able to demonstrate effective verbal and listening comprehension
• Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset

Working Conditions

• Physically able to perform all listed job duties
• Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
• Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be able to travel for extended periods
