Job summary

Perimeter Aviation in Canada seeks a Dash 8 Captain holding an ATPL with a current Group 1 Instrument Rating and Category 1 Medical to operate across Northern Ontario and Manitoba. You will manage flight preparation, coordinate with Dispatch, load and secure cargo, and uphold safety, on-time performance, and professional service on every flight.

• Licensing: Transport Canada ATPL, current Group 1 Instrument Rating, and valid Category 1 Medical.
• Experience: Minimum 2,000 hours total time; 500+ hours on the DHC-8; airline experience asset.
• Communication: Fluent in English with effective verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Compliance: Ability to obtain and maintain required transportation security clearances; meet TC standards.
• Professionalism: Integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and strong time management under pressure.
• Community respect: Indigenous/Cultural awareness training is an asset for First Nations engagement.
• Physical/operational: Able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 lbs, and travel.

Responsibilities

• Operate Dash 8 flights in accordance with SOPs, CARs, AFM, and COM.
• Conduct thorough flight preparation: weather, NOTAMs, fuel, weight-and-balance, and OPF.
• Coordinate with Dispatch and crew; complete joint flight watch.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo; ensure passenger comfort and on-time departures.
• Complete post-flight duties: report aircraft status and log times.
• Champion safety, professionalism, on-time performance on every flight.

Job description

What you will do

• Operate Dash 8 flights in strict accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM), and Company Operations Manual (COM).
• Conduct thorough flight preparation: check weather and NOTAMs, determine fuel and oil requirements, complete weight-and-balance, review/amend/accept the Operational Flight Plan for the Type B 705 operation, and perform a meticulous pre-flight inspection.
• Coordinate closely with Dispatch and crew; complete joint flight watch with the Flight Dispatcher.
• Load, unload, and secure cargo/freight as required while ensuring passenger comfort and punctual departures.
• Complete post-flight duties: advise the Company of aircraft whereabouts when away from base, record flight times, and log/report any defects.
• Champion safety, professionalism, respectful service, and on-time performance on every flight.

What you bring

• Licensing: Transport Canada ATPL, current Group 1 Instrument Rating, and valid Category 1 Medical. (ATPL_ICAO accepted as stated.)
• Experience: Minimum 2,000 hours total time; 500+ hours on the DHC-8 preferred; previous airline experience an asset.
• Communication: Fluent in English with effective verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Compliance: Ability to obtain and maintain required transportation security clearances and additional authorizations; consistently meets or exceeds Transport Canada qualification standards.
• Professionalism: Integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and a positive, respectful attitude; strong time management, multitasking, prioritization, and relationship‑building skills; calm and solutions‑focused under pressure.
• Community respect: Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training is considered an asset; commitment to respectful engagement with First Nations communities.
• Physical/operational: Able to work indoors/outdoors in all weather, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, travel by aircraft and other means, work a flexible schedule, and travel for extended periods.
