Job summary

AFG Inc. seeks a Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) for a Long Term Care client in Lancaster, Ontario. You will work under the Physiotherapist to implement treatment programs and support residents in their goals.

Responsibilities include assisting with exercises, documenting progress, and ensuring safe transfers. A police check and TB testing are required; valid driver’s license and vehicle access are needed. 25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate well with the elderly residents and staff.
• Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required; TB test/Chest X-ray as specified.

Responsibilities

• Assist with group and one-on-one exercises under the Physiotherapist.
• Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session.
• Assist residents with walking, transfers, and safety.
• Monitor changes to residents' health and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
• Perform treatments such as ice pack, ultrasound, TENS, or warm therapy.
