Job summary

William Osler Health System in Brampton seeks a Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant to join our patient care team. Under supervision of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, you will provide patient support, assist with rehab programs, and help maintain supplies and equipment across Osler sites.

You should have a two-year PTA/OT assistant certification, English proficiency, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two-year Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant certification (required)
• Two years' recent clinical experience in adult rehab/geriatrics preferred
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with good time management and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities with minimal supervision
• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to perform duties with knowledge of body mechanics
• Willingness to travel between Osler sites

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks under the direction of physiotherapists and occupational therapists and provide patient support services
• Administrative tasks, stocking supplies, equipment inventory and cleaning/maintenance
• Help rehabilitate each patient to maximum functional level through planned therapeutic programs
• Participate in patient care team meetings and supervision of students
