Job summary

Oakville Physiotherapy is seeking an enthusiastic Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA/OTA) to assist licensed physiotherapists in delivering hands-on exercise guidance and setting up therapeutic modalities. You will support patients throughout their recovery journey, ensuring safe, effective strengthening and mobility routines while maintaining a clean treatment area.

The role emphasizes collaborative outpatient rehabilitation in a modern clinic, with opportunities for mentorship and skill sharing

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA/OTA) program or Degree in Kinesiology / Health Sciences.
• Strong verbal communication and empathetic patient-care demeanor.
• Ability to multitask effectively in a busy, collaborative outpatient rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement prescribed exercise programs under the supervision of registered physiotherapists.
• Set up and monitor therapeutic modalities (ultrasound, TENS, heat/ice, and laser therapy).
• Guide patients through safe, effective strengthening, stretching, and mobility routines.
• Track patient progress and communicate objective clinical observations to the supervising physiotherapist.
• Maintain tidy, sanitized treatment cubicles, exercise equipment, and clinic inventory.
